Fouetté rond de jambe en tournant
I just found my old ballet shoes from when I was 8. It brought back all those memories of leotards, the smell of hair spray, stupidly tight hairdos and bleeding toes. I am glad I chose music instead of dance.

This would be a cool hymn
Ingonyama nengw’ enamabala Night and the spirit of life calling mamela And a voice just the fear of a child answers mamela Ubu khosi bo khokho [This is the throne of our ancestors] We ndodana ye sizwe sonke [Oh, son of the nation)] Wait, there’s no mountain too great Hear the words and have faith Have faith He lives in you He lives in me He watches over Everything we see Into the water...

Silence
Snow is silent, yet it still has the power to stop England in it’s tracks.

"You crept in beside us..."
Being a Chrisitan-founded school, my school always does a Christmas service on the last day of term. Most people weren’t listening, including me, because we were all counting down the minutes before we could go home. However, our biology teacher, Rev Challis, who always leads the service, read this out and I couldn’t help but listen. I think this is the first year where the true...

Thank you
I just wanted to express how utterly thankful I am that Bonnie has been granted asylum in this country. An answer to so many prayers.

Magical Drinks Machine
All I wanted was a cold ice tea. I had exactly $1.50 left in my purse which is what i needed. Machine number 1 took my money but didn’t give me a drink. My dad gave me more money and we moved on, spending 10 minutes at Machine number 2, and then realised that it wasn’t turned on. But machine number three, we put our quarters in… normal… pressed the button and the ice tea...

America: an empire
Day Three. I love American breakfast. Muffins, waffles, bagels, cakes, pastries etc. I’m going to be so fat by the time we get back. Today we hopped on a bus tour of Washington. I’m telling you it is boggling just how much there is to see. We started making a list of all the things we saw that we should look round and there are about 40 things we want to get through. We won’t. ...

America
Day two. The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little.” Second Inaugural Address, Washington, D.C. Out of all of the memorials we visited today, this was the inscription that stood out the most for me, spoken by Franklin Roosevelt in 1937. Mainly because it tied in very well with...

America. An anti-kingdom?
Day one. As soon as we landed in America we were greeted by three big black men who carried all of our luggage through the big airport to our big american car which we then drove on the big 10 lane freeway. We stopped off at a big bistro and I endulged myslef with a big fatass pizza that could have fed us all. We drove through the neighbourhood of Washington looking at the big houses, and all of...

Willy Mason Oxygen
I wanna be better than oxygen So you can breathe when you’re drowning and weak in the knees I wanna speak louder than Ritalin For all the children who think that they’ve got a disease I wanna be cooler than t.v. For all the kids that are wondering what they are going to be We can be stronger than bombs If you’re singing along and you know that you really believe We can be...
